Unanswered phone calls Unfinished sentences

The reality of motherhood - Unanswered Phone calls Unfinished sentences

It’s been a little more than a year since I had my first child
Days and nights that were smudged
are now back to being day and night
I only answer three out of ten calls
One of my breasts is always bigger than the other
they take turns
I most often wear buttoned down clothes for easy access
Instagram is my new best friend
My body is not the same
it has been stretched and scarred
Memories that were washed away gently return
every time my fingers run over them
My shower lasts a couple of seconds
Sex last less than my shower
…and it is soundless
It is sooo difficult to find gender neutral clothing for kids
I have to pack back up food and back up for back up food
Ergo baby carrier is the bestest baby product on the planet
especially while filming and hiking
You cannot walk up to crooked street in san fran carrying a baby
My husband has more women admirers now
than before when he was young, single and had hair
women seem to love men with babies!
I wish Indian hotels and restaurants had changing tables in restrooms
My house is always cluttered
The walls are begining to feel the brunt of the crayons
Eric Carle is a genius
I know all the board books by heart
I can muster the same enthusiasm when I say
‘and -pop! – out of the egg came a tiny and very hungry caterpillar
every single time even if it has been more than nine hundred and ninety nine times
I love it all…
I do dream
…of long showers
…of going to the theatre
…of undisturbed nights
…of waking up with a hangover
…of reading a book with a cup of coffee by my side
…of finishing my sentences.
